Organisers of the Bulawayo arts awards on Friday night revealed that they need a total of $50 760 to successfully host the awards second edition.
The awards ceremony is slated for May 26 at Large city hall.
Organisers of the ceremony said they are open for business. They are calling upon the corporate world to support the event.
Speaking during the awards launch at Bulawayo club on Friday night, one of the organisers Simon Mambazo Phiri said this year they are not taking pledges.
“We need a total of $50 670 to hold the awards successfully, last year had a number of pledges. Sadly most of them were not fulfilled. We spent most of our productive time chasing after the pledges and even made enemies,” he said.
A total of 12 categories with 50 awards were revealed. Submissions can be done in person or online.
